February 15, 2020 was the day when Democrats across North Carolina came together and organized their voting precincts. See the video below to hear Jane’s remarks to the meeting for the precincts in Eastern Randolph County, (Ramseur, Staley, Liberty, Deep River and Southeast).
Jane was welcomed as a guest speaker at the Democratic Women of Randolph County’s first meeting of 2020. She outlined how she wants to go about winning this election: by actually listening to voters.
Other guests that morning were Dale Bennett, candidate for Randolph County Commissioner, Susie Scott, candidate for NC House District 70, and Scott Huffman, candidate for US House NC13.
On December 19, 2019, NC Senate Candidate Jane Ledwell-Gant kicked off her campaign at a Meet & Greet at the George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center (GWCCEC). There was a great turnout. Everyone enjoyed tasty refreshments and interesting speakers.
Brooke Schmidly, District Court Judge candidate, spoke about fairness in elections and how Randolph County needs to come back to a place of balance with regard to politics.
Donald Matthews, President of the Randolph County NAACP chapter spoke to us about Jane’s qualifications. Her life experiences make her the ideal choice for State Senator for District 26.
Clyde Foust, Jr. reiterated Mr. Matthews’ confidence in both candidates’ abilities and also related an amusing story about an encounter between Jane and her opponent back when she was a high school student and he was a vice-principal.
